My parents immigrated from India in the late 70's so I was raised primarily in the U.S. Through life experiences and a bent towards introspection/introversion, I developed an interest in mental health in high school. Although I had always been interested in God and spirituality and even attended church growing up, I only heard and responded to the Gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) in 2002. My faith in Christ is essential to everything I do, including my practice. I decided to pursue psychiatry training in 2003 and have been practicing child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry since. As a practicing mental health professional, I recognize the importance of taking care of my own soul so I have regularly been in therapy myself and have had personal experience in Christian/ 12 step recovery programs.

Discipleship (pursuing Jesus) - starting within the home with marriage and parenting and then extending to the local church/the spiritual family and beyond. I also have a specific interest in encouraging men to grow spiritually and have been involved with mentoring men and facilitating men's groups and men's retreats. I also enjoy teaching young children in church. On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children. I also love hanging out with my friends. Hobbies include running/sports, interesting movies, and good thought-provoking books.  Professionally, I am very interested in providing care that addresses the spirit, soul, and body.
