Stand There and Be Happy

More than 40 years ago, Drs. Frank Minirth and Paul Meier wrote a wonderful book titled Happiness Is a Choice. They wrote, “happiness can become a way of life if we choose the right paths to obtain it.”
We live in such troubled times that happiness seems to be blocked by so many things: illness, social unrest, political and economic uncertainty, only to name a few. And yet, in the middle of it all, it seems like the surest path to sanity is to make happiness a way of life.
Wisdom About Happiness
Take a look at the wisdom about happiness that some people have shared:
“For every minute you are angry you lose 60 seconds of happiness.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
“Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be.” (Abraham Lincoln)
“Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions.” (Dalai Lama)
“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is a life to celebrate.” (Oprah Winfrey)
Happiness Is Right Where We Stand

I love this little piece of sidewalk art. It’s a sweet and simple reminder that happiness can be found right where we stand. And on an even deeper level, joy is standing right there beside you, too.
“A person finds joy in giving an apt reply – and how good is a timely word” (Proverbs 15:23)
Grab a piece of sidewalk chalk and make your own “stand here and be happy” work of art – and then do it! I urge you to read more about anxiety treatment, and then reach out to us at Christian Counseling Associates to schedule a free consultation.
